SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — An industry group has just named Salt Lake City's Nightmare on 13th one of America's most innovative haunted attractions ahead of the 2025 season.

Nightmare on 13th is Utah's longest running indoor haunted house, entering its 36th season this year. America Haunts, a haunted attraction industry group, has named Nightmare on 13th the fourth most innovative haunted attraction in the United States.

This ranking focuses on haunts that are leading a new wave in Halloween entertainment through technology, because horror needs experiential engineering to thrive. "Audio-animatronics, hidden floor sensors, bespoke projection systems, immersive scent and vibration effects, and live-actor choreography all converge to shape multi-sensory narratives," America Haunts wrote.
