Some preventative measures are in store for a roundabout in Linglestown that’s been plagued by repeated damage from tractor-trailers.

At a Thursday press conference, Lower Paxton and PennDOT officials announced a series of steps they said will be implemented before the end of the year at the roundabout at Linglestown/Route 39 and Mountain Roads. The main issue at the site has been big rigs that decimate the curbing.

The township and PennDOT officials are looking at new signage and a truck restriction study to determine if length limits for commercial vehicles should be shortened.

All restriction signage will be evaluated to ensure PennDOT is providing a clear message and strategic location. They will also evaluate updating text-based signs to a standard pictorial version.
