TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - It’s been a long two months for the Gadsden County football team, finding out in late July that they received several sanctions from the Florida High School Athletic Association related to recruitment, student athlete registration and summer programs.
The school, and eight players who were barred from playing, have gone through appeals, and while some sanctions have been reduced, the school is still looking to see their postseason ban lifted, and one of the players is looking have eligibility granted to play at Gadsden County.
Their final chance to appeal is this Sunday. There, they’ll make their case to the FHSAA’s Board of Directors, and Superintendent Elijah Key said he feels confident about their case.
