LIHUE (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Hawaii nonprofit received a $50,000 grant from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan to support nearly 450 youth and families on Kauai.

The Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii (BGCH) said that the funding will be used to ensure access to programs that provide enrichment, life skills, and college and career readiness opportunities.

“Support from Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg allows us to keep keiki safe after school, guide teens as they prepare for college and careers, and give parents peace of mind knowing their children are learning and growing in a positive environment,” said Tina Albao, Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii director of development-Kauai.
