We reach this point every season where we step back, stroke our chin(s), reexamine the Wolverines and Spartans, and ask the difficult, age-old question: What the %*&# are they?

At first blush, it certainly appears Michigan State is the worst 3-0 team in college football history, so uninspiring it’s forced to play games at midnight to avoid FCC sanctions. MSU students will just be getting to the bars when the Spartans kick off at USC at 11 p.m. Eastern time Saturday, an unfortunate consequence of letting grubby, dopey TV execs run college football.
