LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) - This year’s Long Beach Cemetery Tour provided the perfect opportunity to learn about years past.

On Thursday, locals dressed up pretending to be prominent past Long Beach residents and recited monumental acts each person did in their life.

Hosted by the Long Beach Historical Society , this event is meant to preserve the city’s history.

One actor in particular hopes to carry on her own family’s history.

“The importance of carrying on the legacy, especially for me, is just telling my family story because she happens to be a family member of mine,” said actor Marley Frazer. “I think it’s just so cool because my uncle did the cemetery tour one year, and I just saw the opportunity and took it.”
