GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - Thursday evening, a Harrison County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle was involved in a crash on Canal Road.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), the crash happened just north of I-10 at 8:02 p.m.

The crash involved two vehicles and caused minor injuries to both parties, according to MHP.

At least two people, including the officer, were taken to the hospital.

MHP says it’s unclear if the officer involved was responding to a call at the time of the crash.

According to MHP, there are minor impacts to traffic at this time, and the crash will be cleared shortly.
