ARNOLDS PARK, Iowa (KTIV) - Thousands of people across the country turned out tonight for vigils to honor the life of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed last week at an event on a college campus in Utah.

That includes hundreds of people in the Iowa Great Lakes who attended a vigil in Arnolds Park.

State Representative John Wills, who represents the area in the Iowa House, put out this photo on social media.

He says more than 500 people turned out to remember Kirk’s life at the Green Space in Arnolds Park.

The event was organized by a political organization called The Residents of Dickinson County.

A memorial walk, honoring Charlie Kirk, is being organized in Sioux City.

The walk is set for Saturday, October 4, starting at 12 p.m. It will take place at Sioux
