NILES — A Mercer County, Pa., man is being held in the Trumbull County jail on a $100,000 bond after Niles police discovered guns, ammunition and homemade explosives in his vehicle during a traffic stop early Thursday morning.
The arrest led to an investigation at the Eastwood Mall Complex, where a second vehicle was inspected but found to contain no explosives.
Joe Bell, director of communications for the Eastwood Mall Complex, said Niles police coordinated with Howland Township police, and an inspection was done on the second vehicle. No explosives were found, Bell said.
