SALISBURY — The corner of the West Horah and Lloyd streets was the subject of a beautification project two weeks ago. Designs by three different artists were selected by the city for the location.
A story in a Salisbury Post last week explored the project and one of the artist’s inspirations. Today’s article spotlights the other two artists: 29-year-old West End native Antwuan Payne and 12-year-old Gwendolyn Brawdy.
Payne’s design is called “Adolescent Memores.” Payne’s design features images from several landmark sightings from the neighborhood including the Monroe Street School or J.C. Price School, Livingstone College’s Blue Bear statue, the Sonic sign and McLaughlin’s Grocery.
