EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- The University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC), in collaboration with Nexus Neuroscience, was named for America's Top 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery Award in 2025.

The recognition was awarded by Healthgrades, which analyzed data from over 4,500 hospitals nationwide and "honors those with the best clinical outcomes," according to the news release.

"This was a big accomplishment for UMC and Nexus Neuroscience, which is led by UMC's Medical Director of Neurosurgery, Dr. J.D. Day," said Jacob Cintron, president and CEO of the El Paso County Hospital District. "Our team combines evidence-based protocols, minimally invasive techniques, and years of experience to help our patients get back to living the life they want. That is something we are very proud of."
