LAS VEGAS, NV and TEA, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -It was quite an opening night for the top-ranked Harrisburg Volleyball team as they played an exhibition game against the 3rd-ranked team in the country.
Marymount of California came into the game with a 17-1 record. But Harrisburg wasn’t intimidated. Gabi Zachariasen brought the thunder with 17 kills as the Tigers won the opening set 25-21.
Set two was a battle, but Emma Masselink finished it off, 26-24 Tigers.
In the 3rd set, Gabi had 5 straight aces and Julia Masselink provided the game-winning kill and a 25-17 win. Harrisburg begins pool play Friday with 3 games (Best of 3).
In Tea, Brandon Valley continued it’s terrific season with a 2-0 win over the Titans. The Lynx are the only team to win a set this year against #1 Harrisburg.
