HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaiian Humane Society is asking for help after a series of cat shootings on Oahu.
Four cats were discovered in late August with pellet wounds near Sand Island.
Witnesses reported seeing juveniles in a white Tesla.
Days later, another was shot at the Hawaii Kai Park and Ride, where a bullet was recovered.
Harold Han with the Humane Society said these cases are hard to prove and get into court because they need witnesses and tips.
“It’s also concerning because people, you know, there’s a connection between cruelty to animals and the propensity for violence against humans,” he said. “So for someone to not have enough empathy or compassion for an animal to do that, it’s very concerning.”
