Virginia has a heavy slate of elections this year, and early voting starts Friday — 45 days ahead of Election Day on Nov. 4. Campaigns for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and all 100 seats in the House of Delegates have shifted into overdrive, so expect more and more advertisements on television and social media.

The races are drawing national attention, as Virginia is one of only two states (along with New Jersey) holding statewide elections in 2025. Republicans and Democrats see the contests as a trial run for next year’s congressional midterms and as a referendum on President Donald Trump’s policies.
