Midtown is set to come alive this weekend as the collective of small bars and hospitality venues loosely bound by their proximity to the block between Union and Steel streets splashes a stack of a recent state government funding injection to stage a bloc party and local history tour to celebrate the neighbourhoods deep roots in the city.
The street party and history tour will officially launch the Midtown collective on Saturday, September 20, effectively formalising the band of venue and business owners and operators in the heart of Newcastle.
Former Adamstown Bowling Club manager Matt Field has joined the initiative as a local coordinator and said the state's move to revitalise the Newcastle going out economy was a welcome move after the dearth of the COVID years and the imposition
