CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Deputies in Charles County said no one was hurt after shots were fired in the parking lot during a high school football game Thursday.
Details are limited; however, in a post on social media around 9:23 p.m. on Sept. 18, the Charles County Sheriff's Office said there was heavy police activity at the St. Charles County High School football game following the incident.
A preliminary investigation determined that a group of juveniles was seen gathering at the football game and had left before it ended. Shortly after, deputies and the school resource officer heard several gunshots in the parking lot.
The group was then seen fleeing the area.
While canvassing the parking lot and the surrounding area, deputies located a vehicle with damage.
