Lockdown lifted
Gibbon Public Schools has announced that there will be a law enforcement presence for Friday following the schools going into a secure mode on Thursday. “We want parents and guardians to feel comfortable sending their children to school,” superintendent Vern Fisher posted on the schools’ Facebook page. “As a sign of support for those concerns, we will have a police presence on campus the entire day. ”
We’re still working to learn more about what led to Gibbon Public Schools to declare the SECURE mode on Thursday afternoon. Our reporter on scene found a Buffalo County Sheriff’s vehicle outside the school when he arrived around 2:50 p.m.
