HALDEY, Mass. (WWLP) - A vehicle nearly struck a student crossing the road to catch the school bus in Hadley on Friday morning.

In a post on social media by the Hadley Police Department, a video shows a school bus completely stopped on Rocky Hill Road with its stop sign and lights flashing to pick up a student. As the student enters the roadway to cross the street, a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction nearly misses striking the children as they hurry to get out of the driver's way.

Authorities are seeking to identify the vehicle with the help of the bus company and residents' cameras. The incident occurred at 6:41 a.m., and the vehicle in question was coming from the Amherst area, heading toward Northampton.
