ST. LOUIS — The woman whose remains were found stuffed in a bag Sunday afternoon in St. Louis has been identified as a 35-year-old woman from Union, Missouri.
District detectives are investigating the death of the woman, Paige Kleinheider. They don't know how she died.
An autopsy found no signs of trauma, and toxicology results are pending, police said Thursday.
Neighbors found the remains in a bag about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the 4900 block of Harney Avenue, in the city's Mark Twain neighborhood.
"It is heartbreaking that an individual could be treated like that and left," Mitch McCoy, a police spokesman, told reporters this week.
McCoy said detectives will figure out "how this person died and who left her in the street, and then determine what crimes may have been committed."
