SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A Springfield man was arrested and charged with multiple firearm-related offenses after detectives recovered two illegal firearms from his home.

The Springfield Police Department states that over the past couple of months, Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) Detectives have been investigating 20-year-old Samuel Irenes-Colon for illegally possessing a firearm.

A search warrant was applied for and granted for his home on the 400 block of Canon Circle. The warrant was executed on Thursday shortly after noon, and detectives detained Irenes-Colon and two other subjects who were later released.
