HARFORD COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- An investigation is underway after a 16-year-old girl died in a crash involving a school bus in Harford County.

On Thursday, Sept. 18, around 2 p.m., deputies with the Harford County Sheriff's Office and firefighters responded to Route 543 and Crescent Knoll Drive for a crash. The collision involved two vehicles and a Harford County Public Schools bus.

A preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle was traveling north on Route 543 when it stopped to make a left turn onto Crescent Knoll Drive. That's when the vehicle was rear-ended by another car.

The impact of the crash pushed the vehicle into the path of a school bus.
