The Fairbanks North Star Borough Parks and Recreation Commission got a preview of recreation-related projects nominated for the upcoming Capital Improvement Program on Monday, ahead of a finalized list for the Assembly to review.

Matthew Boyer, the parks and recreation director, said that 77 of the 123 project nominations involved parks and recreation facilities, activities, or operations.

The CIP provides a two-year roadmap for prioritized projects for all borough-owned facilities, ranging from the Carlson Center and Tanana Lakes Recreation Area to school buildings and the Juanita Helms Administration Center.

Project nominations can be from residents, organizations, the borough, or the school district.
