MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man has been taken into custody after he rammed into a patrol car and led authorities on a pursuit along I-24 in Murfreesboro, officials said.

The Murfreesboro Police Department said the incident took place on Thursday, Sept. 18 after officers received a license plate reader alert for a vehicle, which was allegedly connected to several crimes, in the parking lot of an Aldi on Robert Rose Drive.

According to officials, an officer approached the vehicle and asked the driver— identified as Shawn Anglin Jr. — to exit. However, Anglin reportedly refused, reversed the vehicle and nearly hit an officer with the door before ramming into a patrol vehicle.
