Raja Jackson, the son of UFC legend Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, was arrested on Thursday following a violent incident at a wrestling event in Los Angeles. The attack on professional wrestler Syko Stu occurred on August 24 during a Knokx Pro Wrestling event that was livestreamed on Jackson’s Kick channel.
The confrontation began when Raja left his ringside seat and entered the ring to confront Syko Stu, a former U.S. Army veteran. Raja lifted Syko Stu and slammed him to the mat, appearing to knock him unconscious. He then delivered 22 punches to Stu’s head and face before other wrestlers intervened to stop the assault.
The Los Angeles police were called to the scene and took a report, which led to Raja's arrest. The attack resulted in serious injuries for Syko Stu, who was hospitalized with a broken jaw, a fractured cheekbone, a busted lip, and several lost teeth. He was released from the hospital a week later and is currently recovering at home.
Raja Jackson has been charged with felony battery with serious bodily injury. After spending several hours in custody, he was released on a $50,000 bond. Quinton Jackson has publicly stated that he believes his son should face the consequences of his actions. “I think that he should do a little time, do a little community service,” he said in an interview.
Rampage Jackson expressed his sympathy for Syko Stu, stating, “I feel bad about what happened to Syko Stu. I don’t condone what my son did at all.” He also mentioned that he wished he could have been present to prevent the incident.
In response to the attack, a GoFundMe page was created to support Syko Stu, raising over $222,000 in less than a month. The page highlights that Syko Stu is a U.S. Army veteran who used wrestling as a way to cope with PTSD. The funds raised will assist with his medical expenses, recovery, and loss of income due to the incident.
