An NFL player who started his professional career with the Bengals has officially announced his retirement from the league.

"Retirement from the NFL isn’t the end of my story — it’s the start of a new chapter. After more than a decade in the league, living out the dream I set my heart on as a kid, it’s time to step away from the field and reflect on the journey," Sanu said in the post.

Sanu was drafted by the Bengals in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Rutgers.

Sanu quickly became a fan favorite in Cincinnati during his four years with the team.
