Malawi Congress Party (MCP) candidates Jessie Kabwila (Salima Central West) and Mike Ng’ombe Mwawa (Salima South Linthipe) have lodged complaints with the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) over the parliamentary results in their respective constituencies.
MEC District Elections Officer Alinafe Chisenga confirmed receipt of the complaints, stating that they will be forwarded to the Commission in Lilongwe for determination.
“We received two letters from Jessie Kabwila and Mike Ng’ombe Mwawa disputing some results, and they will be submitted to the Commission,” she said.
According to unofficial results, Kabwila secured 9,016 votes, losing to Enock Phale who garnered 13,895 votes in Salima Central West. In Salima South Linthipe, Mwawa obtained 5,407 votes, while Maxwell Joshua Chimzemze won
