DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A Davenport man is charged after an early morning police chase.

At 2:03 a.m. Iowa State Patrol, Davenport police and the Scott County Sheriff’s Department came to the area of Northwest Boulevard and I-80 for a reckless driver.

Officials said Taddius Martin, 34, turned off his headlights and fled from officers. A stop was attempted in the area of Division Street and Northwest Boulevard.

The chase ended near Clark and 17th Streets near the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, officials said.

When speaking with officers, they noticed Martin had red, blood shot, watery eyes and slurred speech. Officials said Martin smelled like alcohol.

Test results later showed Martin’s BAC to be 0.150, officials said.
