It shattered the 26-year-old record held by Pokémon: The Movie to become the anime film with the biggest opening weekend box office in history, earning a massive $70 million in receipts. It's a testament to just how popular anime is here in the States, but unfortunately, for those who can't get to a theater to see it, you're going to have a long wait ahead of you before it begins streaming on Crunchyroll.
