Citroen and Vauxhall have issued a recall on the C3, C3 Aircross and Frontera models over an issue where their brake pedals could become detached.

The French firm has ordered a 'stop-drive' action to customers who have taken delivery of the latest generation of C3 and C3 Aircross models.

Customers haven’t yet received their new Vauxhall Fronteras, with the vehicles being inspected before deliveries commence.

It is the car manufacturer's second 'stop-drive' order in three months after certain C3, C4, DS3, DS4 and DS5 models were found to have faulty airbag units .

A report conducted in France found that a woman who sustained fatal injuries while driving in the city of Reims last year died as a result of a faulty airbag in her 2014 Citroen C3.
