COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Broadway legend and Grammy-winning singer Jennifer Holliday will stop in the Midlands for a special performance this weekend.

Holliday will perform at the Harbison Theatre on the campus of Midlands Technical College on Saturday. Best known for her role in the original Broadway production of “Dreamgirls,” Holliday won a Tony Award for best leading actress in 1982. She also won a Grammy the same year for the song “And I Am Telling You, I’m Not Going.”

She’s also released seven studio albums, singles that have landed on the top 10 of R&B and dance charts and won a second Grammy in 1985 for her rendition of Duke Ellington’s “Come Sunday.”
