GLENDALE, Ariz. — A high school in the Peoria Unified High School District was placed under lockdown Friday morning as Glendale police investigated a possible threat.

The lockdown lasted until about 10:30 a.m. at R.S. Kellis High School, located near 91st and Orangewood avenues.

School officials said the lockdown started after the school received a suspicious call. Glendale police investigated the matter and determined the threat to be unsubstantiated.

All students and staff are safe and the high school will operate under a modified, shelter-in-place protocol for the rest of the school day as a precaution, school officials said.

Glendale police will remain on campus and patrol the school's perimeter.
