ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - An explosion was reported at the Georgia Institute of Technology on Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
Around 1:45 p.m., Atlanta Fire Rescue Department crews were called to 901 Atlantic Dr. NW, which houses the Molecular Science and Engineering Building, in response to a small laboratory explosion.
One person has been transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with minor burn injuries, but there is no threat to campus, according to the school.
Students are urged to avoid the area.
