WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - There was no resolution Thursday in a hearing over the Burke County sheriff’s budget lawsuit against county commissioners.

Sheriff Alfonzo Williams has filed a lawsuit seeking a writ of mandamus, essentially telling commissioners to stay out of his budget matters.

But Judge Harold Hinsley on Thursday told Williams and his attorneys to amend their petition and be more specific in what they’re asking for.

They have until Sept. 28 to amend the petition; then there will be another hearing.
