Hobbton’s Wildcats dominated the pitch Wednesday in a game against North Duplin. Final score 5-2 in the home team’s favor.

“Overall it was a good performance (by our team), with areas for growth,” said Wildcat head coach Christian Vega.

“We started off with great ball movement, then lost focus mid-game,” the coach added.

When the team lost focus, the Rebels took advantage, scoring two goals before Hobbton could regain its composure and take control of the game.

“The team’s ability to win aerial balls was key in building plays and pressuring our opponents,” Vega attested.

Ricardo Diaz and Efer Ramos were keys to the win, scoring the Wildcat goals.

Wednesday’s victory moves Hobbton to 3-6-1 overall and 2-0-1 in conference play.

They will face off against West Columbus Monday at 6 p.m.
