An urgent warning has been issued to the public to "call 111 urgently" if they notice a specific skin symptom, which could be indicative of measles, according to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).

Measles is a highly infectious disease most known for causing a unique rash. The illness poses significant risks to babies and young children, potentially leading to serious complications such as pneumonia and seizures if not detected quickly.

The UKHSA took to social media platform X to highlight the typical rash associated with measles. The agency stated: "A blotchy, sometimes raised, rash is one of the signs of measles.
