After a three-day search, police have arrested a Waldorf woman accused of fatally stabbing her grandmother and critically injuring another family member in Fort Washington.

According to a post on X, the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Fugitive Unit located and arrested 28-year-old Breante Thomas Thursday afternoon in Waldorf.

Thomas is charged with first- and second-degree murder, attempted first- and second-degree murder and related offenses in connection with the death of her grandmother, 81-year-old Helen Thomas.

Police said officers responded around 1:50 p.m. Sunday, September 14, to a welfare check at Helen Thomas’s home in the 500 block of Bonhill Drive.
