A suspect has been charged with murder months after a man was found dead outside a Maine home, where his dog was and remains missing, in Palermo, Maine, officials said Friday.

Robert Bruso's golden retriever, Lenny, remains missing, Maine State Police said, asking for help finding the dog.

Bruso's body was found the morning of April 19 outside the home on Boots and Saddle Road after officers were called for a welfare check, police have said. The 56-year-old's death was later ruled a homicide.

On Thursday, Kirby Bradford, a 58-year-old from nearby Liberty, was charged with murder in Bruso's death, police said. Bradford already in custody in another case — police didn't say what led them to charge him in the Palermo
