A man has been convicted of kidnapping a 7-year-old girl and throwing her off a bridge into a Massachusetts lake in 2017, prosecutors said Friday.
Joshua Hubert was also found guilty Thursday of strangulation in the attack, which the girl survived. But he was found not guilty on two charges of aggravated child rape, the Worcester County District Attorney's Office said.

The girl managed to swim to shore after being thrown from Interstate 290 into Lake Quinsigamond on Aug. 27, 2017, got help at a Shrewsbury home and went on to testify in the trial against Hubert, a Worcester resident who is now 43. District Attorney Joseph Early commended her "for her tremendous bravery and strength while testifying."
