When the announcement for the Nintendo Switch 2 came and went, many were surprised and disappointed that no new Animal Crossing game was forthcoming. The last title in the franchise, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, was released over five years ago and was a huge, beloved bestseller. It simply made sense for a new AC title to lead Nintendo's charge into the next generation.

The Nintendo Switch 2 didn't need a new Animal Crossing title, apparently, as the console became an instant bestseller , selling six million units in just two months . But there are still many others, like myself, who don't see the need to buy a new console just yet, since many titles are available for both the Switch and the Switch 2.
