THE WNBA game between the Las Vegas Aces and the Seattle Storm was plunged into darkness on Thursday - just as a crucial shot was made.

With the score 74-73 to Vegas in the final seconds of the playoff meeting, Seattle forward Gabby Williams received a pass just inside the three point line.

In one final attempt to win the game, the 29-year-old quickly went for a rushed shot.

And as the ball flew towards the basket, the lights in the stadium went out.

It caused some confusion among the fans in the stadium, with some thinking that Williams had sunk the shot in time.

However, replays showed that she did not get her shot off in time and she missed the basket.

The Aces players immediately ran onto the court to celebrate with the arena still in darkness.
