VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — We have learned the identity of a woman who died in a Friday morning crash on the Lloyd Expressway.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. Friday on the Lloyd Expressway at the intersection of McDowell Road.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office said the driver of an SUV was killed after being hit by a semi.

The coroner's office has now identified the victim as 72-year-old Pamela J. Appel.

The crash remains under investigation at this time. As per Indiana law, the driver of the semi underwent a chemical test and evaluation by a drug recognition expert.
