Surrey police are investigating another shooting at a business in Surrey on Friday.

Shortly after 8:30 a.m., the Surrey Police Service received reports of a shooting in the 10800-block of 125th Street. When they arrived, officers found numerous bullet holes in the rear of a business. There are no reports of injuries.

Police haven’t said whether this shooting is related to a string of extortion threats and that a motive for the shooting is under investigation.

South Asian Canadian business owners in Surrey told Postmedia News last month that they live in fear of shootings and continue to receive calls from extortionists demanding money. At the time, Surrey police said they had received 39 reports of extortion this year — 27 of them involving shootings.
