A Vicksburg woman has been arrested and charged with Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault after police say she allegedly shot her boyfriend during a disturbance last week.

According to the Vicksburg Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of Athens Avenue around 9:18 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, after reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Lash Rogers, 47, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Rogers told police he had been shot by his girlfriend, April Lane, 41.

Investigators processed the scene and determined evidence supported that a disturbance had occurred. Lane was taken into custody at the scene. Rogers was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment and later released.
