Five people were injured after a vehicle reportedly hit pedestrians on Friday in the Chinatown area in Los Angeles, authorities said.

Fire crews responded to the accident around 11:47 a.m. on the 100 block of W. Alpine Street.

According to authorities, four patients were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals. A fifth person declined medical transport, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles

Fire Department (LAFD).

Information on the patient’s identity and condition was not immediately available.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
