RIPLEY, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Tennessee middle school is warning parents of a dangerous challenge circulating among young people.
“We want to make you aware of a dangerous social media trend called the Benadryl Challenge,” a post from Ripley Middle School said.
The challenge “encourages young people to take large amounts of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) in order to cause hallucinations.” A letter from a school-based behavioral health liaison calls the challenge “extremely unsafe and can be life-threatening.”
