CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The former Cincinnati Children’s Hospital chaplain and imam who has been in ICE custody for more than three months was released from the Butler County Jail, his attorney, Robert Ratliff, confirmed.

As Ayman Soliman walked out from behind a garage door, he was immediately greeted by chants of his name and his friends who supported him along the way.

With a garbage bag in hand and wearing the same suit he wore for his immigration interview in July, the former chaplain was also wearing a smile.

On Friday, attorneys for the Department of Homeland Security dismissed the removal proceedings that would have deported Soliman back to Egypt, Ratliff tells FOX19 NOW.
