Ayman Soliman, the former Cincinnati Children's chaplain detained by ICE, has been released and had his asylum status reinstated.
Multiple sources confirmed to WLWT Soliman has been released, one sharing a video to Instagram of him appearing to walk out of the detention center. Advertisement
With his release, Soliman's asylum status was reinstated.
A press conference from his supporters is scheduled for this evening.
Soliman came to the U.S. from Egypt in 2014 and was granted asylum in 2018.
But, back in July, he was detained by ICE agents during a check-in after his asylum was revoked.
He had been in the Butler County Jail ever since, until his release Friday.
Congressman Greg Landsman, who advocated for Soliman following him being detained by ICE, released a state
