BOSTON —
Police records show a man at a Mattapan treatment facility died following a "brief struggle" with officers last week.
On Sept. 11, just before 8 p.m., officers were called to a Bay Cove group facility at 669 Walk Hill St. to help staff who wanted to remove a man who was on drugs and acting erratically, according to a Boston Police report.
The report states that when officers located the man in question, a "brief struggle" ensued, with officers eventually detaining him.
Details of what led up to the struggle were not included in the report.
The victim, whose name is not being released, was transported to Boston Medical Center for further evaluation, where he was pronounced dead just before 9 p.m.
