CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - An argument led to a deadly shooting in an alley near a popular park in Uptown on Thursday afternoon, according to court records.

Jahday Humphrey, 20, was identified as the victim of the shooting. Jail records show ed that 33-year-old Jarius Jackson has been charged with first-degree murder in Humphrey’s death and is being held without bond.

What we know

The shooting reportedly happened around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, along Brevard Court directly across from Romare Bearden Park.

Police said they were called to the location for an assault with a deadly weapon and, upon arrival, found Humphrey with multiple gunshot wounds.

Reports stated that paramedics rushed Humphrey to the hospital, where he later died. Jackson turned himself in at the scene
