WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — While it's still warm outside right now, state leader are getting ready for cold weather.

In Indiana, dangerous and deadly conditions on the road are just facts of life, but thankfully state leaders say they are ready to battle ice and snow and keep people safe on the highways. They're starting, in warm weather, with truck inspections.

"These inspections just help everybody perform their best and perform the best out on the roadways and when the people are able to perform their best, the equipment is able to perform their best, then we're able to perform our best and serve the traveling public," said Blake Dollier, Public Relations Director of INDOT West Central.
